Upgrading Cyrus SASL can spoil your day!

My colleague and friend {@raceme} is currently struggling to restore a server that he was just to deliver to a customer. It was just after a security upgrade and it took us some time to find that it is because libsasl7 was upgraded ... and was broken! Bad luck, this project was nearly finished.
Unfortunately, the machine is now inaccessible since authentication is broken and the machine itself is 500km away from our office. Ah, the joy of conducting a non geek towards init single and dpkg by phone! Conclusion, upgrade to cyrus-sasl 1.5.27-3woody3 (not announced yet) and not to 1.5.27-3woody2.
Remember kids, don't try this at home!
